What are you using for your OSD? Is this a stock product or something you've made? Any idea what OSD chip it's using? MAX7456 & an Atmel?

Hi DrJeseuss,

This is my own design. It uses neither of these devices. It is significantly more powerful than that. Unfortunately it is also more expensive. I have a new version in preproduction right now that has even more features but will be affordable for hobby use. It should be available in a month or so.

Hi tycinis,

We have not set the price yet but it will likely be in the $349.00 range but could be even less depending on production cost.

Yep, almost 2 times more expensive if FPV, FUN & DiyDrone is target audience :))

I guess that would depend ultimately on whether the feature set was able to override the desire to keep your credit card balance low(er). At least that is what happens to me in this hobby. I see something. Decide it is too expensive. My brain goes on autopilot and starts justifying all the reasons I need it then I go buy it anyway... lol...

Most OSDs I've seen for this hobby use a character based OSD overlay. Does yours make good use of character sets, or is it generating graphics for the gauges? Care to share a little detail on how this is being done?

Yep , That too but mostly the desire to keep cordial atmosphere @ home if you want to enjoy this hobby for long term with peace & fun ;-). But i guess a price range of 200-250$( keeping in mind the functions/layout with sensors) would be appreciated by most hobbiest here and else were since the size of this OSD looks as if it may not suit or will be easy for easystar etc type of small airframes which is most popular among drones and fpv guys. there is very little space left for any thing else :)) , as such OSD is not so high on every hobby droners priority list I guess . You are right about reasons/justifications and excuse we try to find to buy the toys(I am doing right now for LRS system ;-)) but mileage vary
