After an otherwise uneventful flight the APM seemed to go into battery failsafe. The machine then went completely crazy and did a very low above the ground sweep until it ran into a snow pile. Not much damage, but I can't figure out what to make of it. The configuration: APM 2.5 w/ uBlox GPS, 6 880 kV motors and 11x4.7 inch APC props. No other sensors installed.

I'm quite new to this (this is my 5th or so flight) so I don't really know what to look for in the logs. The GPS error (and the Google Earth flight path) are exactly where the thing went. I have attached the log files, would be very grateful if someone could give me a hint. Thanks!

  • Looking at your logs, especially roll-roll_in and pitch-pitch_in shows a wild divergence at the end which may have been a motor shutting down.

As you didn't have any other logging turned on it is a bit hard to surmise any further.

Could an ESC have shut down? Do you have LiPo save still turned on in your ESC?

Are all the motors still functional?

What voltage, under load, was your battery at, and do you have a voltage sensor?
