I have started to add functions to MinimOsd code.
At first i did it for myself only. Added many functions i thought i need. Then opened this thread.
after a while, Pedro and later Miguel came, and things started to happen fast. :D
They have optimised the code and added even more things to it.
They have worked hard on CT, and it became a great tool!
Thank you Bough! :)
By now MinimOSD-Extra got a pretty advanced OSD.
Here it is in action:
- Changeable unit measurement (US, metric)
- Home alt
- Battery Percent
- Battery used mah
- Current Draw
- Time From Startup (cleared at takeoff to show exact flight time)
- OSD Menu
- Wind horizontal speed and direction, and also the average wind speed of the last few minutes.
- OSD on/off
- Switchable secound screen
- WP distance
- WP heading
- Crosstrack error
- Warning messages for Lost GPS fix, Stall, Overspeed, battery volt, battery Percent, RSSI
- Efficiency, glide distance & thermic notifier. 3 in one panel
- OSD Brightness
- HAM Call Sign
- After flight summary
- Trip distance
- Smoothened horizon
- Real heading
- Vertical speed
This functions can be turned on and off, and placed on different screens now, by the Config. tool.
Also RSSI, switching mode and channel and unit measurement, Stall speed warning, Overspeed warning, Battery warning volt, Battery percent warning, RSSI warning, can be set in new Config Tool.
We built in a new way of setting video standards. Now OSD does not guessing anymore :). You can set it fixed from CT. It is in "Video Mode" menu.
Here is how it looks: (This video is a bit outdated, sorry. I will make a new one soon.)
The MinimOSD-Extra project is here: Link
This project is the developing version of the official Arducam OSD located here: Link
The latest stable version is: 2.2
The latest version can be downloaded from here: MinimOSD-Extra R800
CT is included. (The FW for Plane, Copter, Character upload and the character file is in the "FW & Char" directory inside CT directory)
We are sharing it to see videos you make using it! :)
Thx for sharing! :)
Nice Pavel. I love Cruise mode too!
Yes, that is very great flight mode! Very nice flight!
Thank you! Thank you for your hard work on MinimOSD extra!
What kind of video FPV equipment do you use?
Nothing special, 500mw lawmate 1.2 band transmitter on inverted V, BiQuad on ground.
I am using 5.8 GHz, but going to use 2.4 soon to improve reliability and distance.
This is off topic, but be careful of 2.4, it's actually less reliable because you never know what the noise floor is like - there's wifi almost everywhere. I do 8km easily with 5.8, although after 6 or 7km the image isn't as sharp.
I fly with clover leaf and skew planar antennas on 5.8 and the image stability is as you can see in the recent video, where up to 700 meters distance is. Do you think is this ok for this band or should I improve something? 2.4 was recommended to me by trappy, so I am hoping in better results here. Would like to flow low around trees.
Mail me on firstname.lastname@example.org, because we're filling up Gabor's thread :) Trappy uses 2.4 because that's the legal requirement for his country. If you're like most of the world, 1.2/1.3 is a free band, and even better for flying behind objects.
No problem my friens, as long as it is interesting! :D
Also you bough shared your videos with us. Thx for that! ;)
Anyone can post hes or her setup, and experiances.
This forum can handle bough Minimosd technical part, and FPV experience "with MinimOSD" and.... :)
It is just, use the word Minimosd in all posts. :D
