Hi all,

I just bought an FrSky Taranis for my quad copter and needed to get the Mavlink data up on the Taranis LCD telemetry display. So here is my solution using a Teensy3.1 as a converter between MavLink and the S.Port on FrSky X8R.

See attached file below...

I can not find anything. However, the MP reports the undervoltage.
I think it's somewhere in "severity levels used in STATUS TEXT messages"

Peter

Hmm, it's a nice idea but I think I'll stick with my FrSky PPM convertor for the control side - http://www.frsky-rc.com/product/pro.php?pro_id=112

Hi Rolf, i found under:

MAV_SEVERITY:

MAV_SEVERITY_WARNING = 4 Indicates about a possible future error if this is not resolved within a given timeframe. Example would be a low battery warning.

Can you tell me how I can query that

Peter

In which file? Is it in the MavLink library or in the APM autopilot code??

/Rolf

Shweeet, got mine working. This is awesome!!

Thanks so much for sharing!

Rolf, for some reason my Spd and distance never change :(  everything else works really good! also missing flight mode info ;)

Ok, here is what you can do,

declare variable ap_severity=0;

in the MavLink_FrSkySPort.ino file, add in the MavLink_receive function:

            case MAVLINK_MSG_ID_STATUSTEXT:

            mavlink_msg_statustext_decode(&msg,&statustext);

            ap_severity = statustext.severity;

            break;

Now you can use the returned value ap_severity to set an output depending of the value

do you have a GPS connected?

ap_severity is sending 0x01 (MAV_SEVERITY_ALERT) when battery drops under failsafe level.

statustext.text is reporting "Battery Low!"

yes :) and have 10-12 satelites + 3d fix, also my gps alt is not much different from bar alt.

p.s. which f/w version are you using on your taranis?

I'm using opentx-x9d-v1.1.02

Do you have longitude & latitude  shown in the telemetry screen?

cause both Spd and Dist are using these values to calculate there values...

Flight mode info is not included in the file, only ARMED/DISARMED as T1, i will change that on the next uploaded file..
