APM Planner no aircraft location displayed.

Hi, when I connect to the mission planner the apm board is showing a 3D GPS lock but the aircraft symbol is not shown on the map and I'm unable to set home etc. This is happening on all the versions of the planner that I try and use. Any ideas? All the other data i.e attitude etc is showing correctly.
