Hello,

until now I am using a UBEC 5V combined with a BTS555 (with an added switch) to power my APM + ESC without any lightning while connecting the battery.

Now I plan on buying the APM Power Module with XT60 Connectors to get voltage and power consumption during fpv.

This module also provides power for my APM2.5. This means the APM will switch on as soon as I connect the battery.

Is it possible to disable this feature?  Or make the BTS555 still power the ESC so that I am able just to switch on the APM for firmware update and leave the ESCs offline?

Kai

  • I've just received my APM 2.5 Power Module to measure current and voltage.

Now, I am reading the wiki on how to connect: https://code.google.com/p/arducopter/wiki/AC2_Current?wl=en

    My question:

    1. In the wiki is written I would have to measure the input voltage at one point on the board. Will this be affected when I plan on using not the voltage given by the "APM 2.5 Power Module" ?

    2. Will the "APM 2.5 Power Module" give enough amps to power two servos?

    I had a similar question http://diydrones.com/forum/topics/using-atto-sensor-and-the-new-apm...
It would be good to have confirmation, but you can easily snip the power wires from the APM PM to the APM. 5V is routed via two wires in the Df13 cable. It's Pin #1 and Pin#2 which is the red wire and the black wire next to it. (you could actually use a small screw driver and release the retaining tabs for the pins carefully)
You can see it marked as the "mystery port" here http://diydrones.com/forum/topics/apm2-5-5v-vcc-schematic
You coul even put a switch inline on the cable.
