Autonomous Quadcopter via GPS

Hello,

I am looking to build/buy a Quadcopter that can follow a short flight plan autonomously via GPS. I really only need it to go in a square about 1/8th of mile, then hover while looking at one point and then land at the same place it took off. The route would be set and would not change. I also need to record HD video while it is flying. The idea is to push a button, have it take off, fly the path, hover, then land all by itself.

Does anyone know if anyone is building something like this out of the box. If not does anyone have suggestions on the best way to go about this project?

Thanks,

Ryan

  • Easy peasy with the Pixhawk...currently the only RTF quad I am aware of that is RTF with this flight controller is 3DR's Iris.  This would be a very simple mission.
