Building a quadrocopter help

Hey all am looking to make a flying drone for school for my final project at university, and I need a little guidance. I want the drone to have 6 sensors and 2 cameras a wifi chip so I can control it with my iPad, to also be able to be voice activated and maybe a speaker to reapet certain commands and solar panels as well to help out the battery, and I wanna build this from scratch. Can someone tell me the best way to go about this, and the best parts to buy to make this happen thanks all

  • Well, weight is going to be your biggest hurdle,  The weight to power ratio of solar may be a bit too heavy to make any affect of flight times.

What 6 sensors do you want to use.

There are 2.4ghz WIFI recievers out there however I have never used one.  http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__21430__Hobbyking_IOS_And...

Like any other quad your going to need a frame,  4 motors 4 speed controllers 4 propellers something to recieve radio signals, something to handle the balance the quad to keep this inherrently unstable platform stable, and something to power it.

Since you want video your going to need a camera something to send the video signal something to receive the video signal and either a radio activated switch or 2 video transmitters for the 2 cameras.

With the voice commands your probably going to have to custom write the control software as I do not know of anyone that has done that yet.  But it should not be too hard since there are already wifi recievers out there.  However I have not seen them over 4 channel.
