Drone training and pilot licensing

As we know there is no common ground for the training and licensing of drone users/pilots due to the variety of different regulatory approaches from country to country. At least in Europe, Cyprus based 360iFly are in discussions with other civil aviation authorities to gain recognition of their recreational and commercial drone user/pilot training courses outside of Cyprus.

In Cyprus, commercial drone pilot licenses are issued by the Cyprus Department of Civil Aviation (European) following successful training (from an approved training provider) and passing both a theory and flight examination by a Civil Aviation appointed examiner. The process is not dissimilar to current manned aviation by which operating permissions and pilot licenses are separate entities.

This approach will hopefully pave the way for Cyprus to attract budding drone pilots from overseas to the sunshine Island in the Eastern Med, to be trained and licensed. Much of course rests on home country recognition of the licenses.

360iFly are therefore looking to gauge interest of those who would look to combine a holiday/vacation with drone pilot training in Cyprus and if enough support is generated will open further discussions with your home country civil aviation authorities, be it in Europe or elsewhere.

If interested then visit www.360ifly.com to register your interest or like and msg through the 360iFly Facebook page. They will then be in contact with you.
