DX8G2 and 6 flight modes

OK so I ma having trouble configuring my Spektrum DX8G2 with the Mission Planner for 6 flight modes for my Octo. I upgraded from a DX6i. I can find 100 references on how to do so with the older DX8, but not the Gen 2. The menu is different and even going through the manual I am having troubles. Anyone know how to do this or can point me in a good direction? Also, the DX8G2 has a aircraft type for multirotors so should I go that route or stick with acro?

  • Look, I thought you all were a helpful forum. Please, just take a second to read what I have so far.

I am trying to use my new DX8G2 with Mission Planner for my Octo. For those of you familiar with Mission Planner, it gets its flight modes from the Gear channel on the TX. I can get 4 flight modes but not 6.

Here is how I have it set up. First, TX is in multirotor mode instead of acro. Spektrum Flightmode switch is inh.

    Gear Travel: D -70 U +68

    Mix1: Gear >Gear; Rate D-38% U -42%; Switch A (Gear Switch; 2 position switch)

    Mix2: Gear >Gear; Rate D-38% U -40%; Switch B (Gear Switch; 3 position switch)

So I get flight modes 1, 2, 4, and 5. when switched to 3 and 4 they go back to 1 and 6.

I can get 3 and 4 by adjusting the U on mix 2 but then I lose 2 and 4. I cannot seem to get the 3 position switch to give me 3 positions.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks,

    Clint
