I was wondering if it's possible to use the same concept as the Dyson Air Multiplier

instead of a normal rotor on some drone, will it provide the power needed?

What do you guys think? would it be worth a try, or would it FAIL

would be cool if there where field tests

to get a better idea of the Dyson Air Multiplier see the video

  • Shure it's possible. Do you want a gentle refreshing breeze .. .."  ;; '' ; '' ;;;'..//""!!!!!!! OR A BAST OF USEFUL THRUST. >> >>> .., . Sorry for that outburst. It was just done for effect.
  • There was recently (past month or so) an entire thread on here, about this subject (coanda effect).  You might want to search for it, as it might yield interesting insight... once you carefully filter out all the "enthusiasm" and replace it with science.  :)
  • This tech has been shown to be nothing more than good marketing, the effectiveness as a desk fan is awful let alone as propulsion. Also you'd note that a 10" standard desk fan is substantially quieter.

Unless your quad is going to be 1m x 1m I wouldn't even bother.

  • This gizmo has a rotor, the only difference is that it's housed inside of a 'cool' designer casing. All it does is reducing efficiency via friction and turbulence.
