Flight is jerky during "Follow me" mode

Software version: Arducopter: ArduCopter-3.1.0

Hardware: Drone: IRIS with pixhawk board

Detection context: In flight test, when using the follow me mode, the drone trajectory is not smooth.

Description: When the follow me mode is engaged, the drone is shaking every time it receives a new waypoint. (issue #1092)

Is there any suggestion to correct this behaviour.

  • There were some issues affecting FollowMe in AC 3.0
    You could revert back to 2.9 or wait for 3.2 which should take care of the twitching.
    • Does this issue affect the guided mode ?

      • Less so, but it is there. If your copter is tuned well you won't see more than a twitch as it reaches it's Guide WP.
