FPV noob here

Hello!

I assembled a DJI F450 with some help and I've been out of the action for a while.

But now, practicing flying with some help and a borrowed Blade Nano.

I digress...

So, my goal with a copter right now is to put a camera on it and have it stream back to a computer through the camera-exclusive radio channel.

After roaming around the DIY forums, I see that putting a GoPro and streaming from its wi-fi can cause latency of 5-10 seconds, so I was wondering:

-- Can I use an FPV system instead?

-- Does this resolve the latency issue? (I'm assuming it should because many pilots use it to control the drone)

-- Any pointers on how to set one up, for a noob?

So far, after light reading, I know that

 1) I need to have a camera on a drone.

 2) An analog transmitter to stream images/video to a ground station (computer)

(what frequency should I use? For e.g. GoPro's frequency is 2.4GHz and if my radio for the quad is 2.4Ghz as well, there will be interference.)

 3) A display system (monitor of computer) or goggles.

 4) A receiver on the computer for the video/images capture.

Please point me to the right resources to read up on this.

Share your knowledge if you have worked with FPV.

My goal is to capture images in real-time, with as minimal delay as possible, so I can do some image processing on the computer through opencv or something similar.
