Hexacopter ESC 5 and 6 do not want to arm.

Hello everybody,

This is my first post on this forum, I am coming here as I purchased a 3DR hexacopter (http://www.buildyourowndrone.co.uk/ArduCopter-3DR-Hexacopter-Full-Kit-p/ac-hexa3drfk.htm) which uses an APM v1.4 and I have a problem.

I have 2 ESC out of the 6 (number 5 and 6) that do not want to arm like if the calibration process did not work: they both don't stop beeping. All 4 others work fine.

But when I went through the manual configuration, everything was fine. I can state that because I also tried to exchange the 2 ESC control signals of channel 5 and 6 with other channels and they do arm correctly! But then the 2 other ESC that I swapped the position with do not work.

So I guess it is a matter of channel output 5 and 6 on the APM.

As I suspected that I might have put the wrong firmware (flashing the quad version for example),

I restarted from scratch and re-flash the APM with the mission planner but I still have the same results.

Finally, I checked the wire connections from the PDB to the APM outputs and there are no problem there.

But I couldn't figure out on which pin of the APM microcontroller are connected the output signals 5 and 6, so I couldn't check if those connections are fine too.

I am kind of stuck now and do not know what to try next or where the problem is coming from.

Does anybody has an idea?

Cheers,

Mathieu
