Large Octo or X8 Frames?

Hey guys, I'm trying to find a large octo of x8 frame. All I have been able to find so far are ones fitting props between 10 and 18". Looking for a few options between 20 and 30". Found the xFold Dragon, but that is all so far. Any help would be awesome.

  • I've heard Vulcan, and Gryphon Dynamics make reasonably large frames, otherwise it's custom.

  • Hi Zach,

I can build you what you need.  We engineer systems for commercial and research organizations.  Please send me an email at rob@autosystems.io to discuss.

I think beasts of that size are usually custom built.  I don't know of any commercially available ones.

    What is your application?

    • Figured haha.

It's currently just a research project. Trying to figure out what the most thrust is that I could get out of an oct. with commercially available parts. At max throttle I can get about 5.5 kg of thrust per motor (U7) with 18" props, but the efficiency is horrendous. So was hoping to step it up to larger props allowing for both larger motors resulting in even more thrust and some efficiency gain.

Good luck.  You may already know this, but you cannot fly with full throttle thrust equal to vehicle weight.  The rule of thumb is you should be able to hover at half throttle.

        • I do I do, thank you for checking!
