New to UAV's

Hi,

I just bought a 3DRobotics IRIS and managed to get 2 ten second flights.  Now all it does is sit there with the light blinking green.  It does not arm at all.  Have followed the very skimpy trouble shooting procedure for the IRIS and everything seems OK.  Anyone have any advise for me?  Thanks,  Aaron

  • What mode are you in?

I think you can only arm in stabilize or altitude modes.

Also do the props move or "twitch" when you arm Iris?

  • First, was it intentional that your first 2 flights were only 10 seconds long?  Did you terminate them?

    • Thanks for the replies.  The first flight was a quick take off and landing.  The second was meant to be longer but went out of control and had a minor crash.  Had to replace two propellers.  Ever since, the light on the battery door just flashes green after I press the safety button.  The motors do not arm at all and it just sits there.  I've tried resetting the transmitters, but it still just sits there flashing the green light.  Getting kinda frustrated.

      • Hi Aaron,

Do you get an error message in mission planner when trying to arm?

I had a small crash a couple of weeks ago and couldn't arm after, getting an error message in mission planner.

It turned out the micro sd card had slightly popped out of the pixhawk during the crash.

Removed it and turned it back on, everything went OK.

Anyway, as Rob advices, try arming motors while connected to mission planner (USB or telemetry), maybe you'll get more hints of what's happening.

        Good luck!
