I am a newbie quadcopter builder and am having an issue with my first drone. I have built a flamewheel arducopter and have bought a turnigy 9x to control it with. I have run through calibrating the ESC's and it seemed to be successful.
However, when i try to launch, the quad tries to take off on an angle rather than straight up. To trouble shoot I have tried replacing the ESC on the arm of the direction it tilts when taking off, but that had no effect. I then rotated the motors around and that didnt help either, it still tilted in the original direction.
Meanwhile while I was trouble shooting, I was waiting on a learner copter to arrive, a qbot micro RTF, which can be controlled via the turning tx also. This arrived and as soon as I tried to use it, it demonstrated the same problem as the flamewheel.
This leads me to think there could be an issue with my transmitter? Does that sound plausible, and if so, is there some calibration or testing that can be done to confirm this issue?
Any help anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated.
