Hi,

I recently discovered a post on RCG here back in May 2015 from a new member about using a single Pixhawk for VTOL control on the BirdsEyeView FireFLY6. It lead to the PX4 page below describing some development firmware for the Pixhawk. Does anyone know if there have been updates to this development or how to obtain the firmware for testing?

VTOL Firmware for Pixhawk

PX4 Page to BirdsEyeView FireFly

Thanks.

The problem with using two flight controllers is that it requires having the FireFLY6 Transition Bridge. I would first try the PX4 stack solution which doesn't require a key.

Greg what is your idea about using two flight and RC at this project, how can I do it???

Jimmy,

Today, there is tiltrotor support for the FireFLY6 in APM Plane v3.8.0. No AVA key is needed. You can find pre-release firmware and setup information here. Also, the PX4 stack supports tiltrotor for the FireFLY6 hardware.

Good luck!

I just acquired the FireFLY6 and am puzzled how to bypass the AVA key. $499 for mapping and camera control? Can I start with the provided (birdseye) firmware and modify it in Mission Planner? Is there now support for Tiltrotor?

Hi babak,

What was your final solution?

I have changed the parameters and used the new guide and firmware of FF6.

I will send you new parameters.
