We are working on creating a new quadcopter or hexacopter and are looking for advice. We will be making multiple vehicles that will work in ROS using cameras and Ladar. We will be using the APM 2.5 as our controller.
We have already found a few quad or hexa frames, but wondered if the community had any suggestions. Also any suggestions on motors?
We are mainly looking at frames that are very light to increase payload capacity and flight time. We also need it to have a high profile to allow for a camera mount underneath. We don't mind a solid or collapsible frame.
Some we have looked at:
MW SIXCopter with 16mm carbon tubes
Bumblebee
Hobbyking X525V3
Gaui frames

Check out the UAP1 if you haven't already. The frame is very customizable and priced reasonably.
