ROS getting started for Pixhawk

I'm going through this tutorial :

There's this line early on 

"We will be using mavlink for passing data between the Odroid and the FC, ..."

but when I read further, it says 

"This will test your connection to the Pixhawk and USB camera."

What exactly is implied by connection between pixhawk and USB cam? 

Am I using the launch file to

1) Test the connection between my computer and FC, or

2) Test the connection between FC and the camera?

Can I interface a USB camera on the pixhawk? Becuase as far as I know there's only microUSB port on pixhawk, how I would I plug in a USB camera?
