This is a great read. It is a story about Mr. Maynard Hill, the Spirit of Butts Farm and his teams record RC Flight across the Atlantic. A real eye opener for a noob like me!
Sorry for any confusion

Broken link....

Does this refer to the old Maynard Hill story?
Maynard is great friend of mine. I sponsored the STAR team for this flight many many years ago. What maynard did with fuel consumption modifications to his engines is nothing short of revolutionary. Maynard is one of the legendary founders of UAV research in case you were not aware. Many people assisted in the success of these flights and attempts, as there were many attempts before success occurred with this project.
Awsome! I had a problem with the link I found yesterday. That article had information about his custom made fuel floats and more information than the above link. If you have a more detailed article, please link it. Pictures too... (please)
I too can't find the link but the part that impressed me most was the whole journey using just 1.5 gallon of fuel only. great. let me see if I can find the link.
