  • IMO the Turnigy outshines all others by the Open Source nature of the firmware. There are destructions and guides, as well as no-soldering-installation kits availible to add a usb interface and upload new code.. if your comfortable with building a ardu-anything, you can handle adding new firmware to your Turnigy!. New code brings out easily programmable APMega switches and dials.

  • Not sure if this is mentioned elsewhere; I'm using the Pot knob on the front of the 9X transmitter as a mode switch.  I used a red and black marker to mark the alternating arcs/zones for the 6 modes (0-5) around the knob.  This way all modes are in one spot.  Works well for my needs
  • Tom thats a great job, can you still have flaps on this setup?  Since ch6 is usually flaps, any options to still have some flaps?  Sorry I am new to RC planes..

    Anyway...
    Enter the menu( It is important to note that enter needs to be pressed to save changes made in menus)
    1 Go to the AUX-CH menu
    2 Change CH-7 to HOV THRO
    3 press enter then exit menu
    4 Go to PROG MIX enter mix1
    State ACT
    Master AUX
    Slave FLP
    Offset 000
    Uprate -100
    Dnrate 000
    SW NOR
    5 Save this by pressing enter
    6 Go to PROG MIX enter mix2
    State ACT
    Master AUX
    Slave FLP
    Offset 000
    Uprate 100
    Dnrate 000
    SW ID2
    7 Save this by pressing enter
    This setup leaves two extra channels open for use... These can be set in the AUX-CH menu
    ( Just take care in selecting the right AUX in mixing as 2 are available)

  • Hi, if you guys need help with the programming of the 3way I can help.. I use a turnigy for my uav... No soldering or anything.. Just the right mixing of gear and aux or aux and aux or flap and aux.. Easy to do!

  • Firstly ... the Control Mode Switch
    has anyone worked out how to program the Tx to create a good control mode switch?
    I've looked for and failed to reprogram the 3 pos mixing switch.
    OR have you replaced one of the trim pots with a switch ? Love to know the part if so.
