Hi, I am from New Zealand and trying to understand the application of drones in agriculture. We have a lot of sheep on large extensive farms, but trying to understand how ranchers from the USA might use drone technology is very difficult from the bottom of the pacific. I have a 2 minute survey with 11 questions which would really help my project. Thank you.  https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/RSW59CH

Hello, Im Delmond Marshall, I'm new to the drone culture. I'm Head Coach of the Flint Unity Farming Project in Flint, Michigan where we teach kids how to grow vegetables they can eat that will help offset their exposure to toxins caused by the Flint Water Crisis, which is still ongoing. A news story on us is online at: http://www.abc12.com/video? vid=434367523. I'd like to introduce drones to my kids. My question is whats the most inexpensive drone with cameras can I get or have made that they could use? I have 102 kids, No way I can buy all of them drones. If I could get 5 of them for our group, I'd be happy.I'm hoping to create a drone club for them. Any ideas or suggestions please share and let me know. You should say that the NCR20700A cell at 20A has his capacity down to 2800mAh

and the rated 3300mAh capacity is only for 0.5A load.

These cells are not for heavy UAV but for ultra efficient UAV, it is a different thing.

Cristian , I have work with Li-on batteries and I do not completely agree to what you wrote about.

- These are not "real" 6S packs since the maximum tension of Li-on battery is not the same of Lipo batteries, look at the graph belòw , the blue line fit best scenario.

- The pack capacity in real world is not 21Ah , looking at the datasheet by Panasonic it is quite clear that the usuable capacity correspond to voltage low as 3 volts, so lets say 3100mAh if you have 1C discharge rate, blue line.

These type of batteries can be used on drones with very high efficiency and low Ampère draw, should be around 1C during hovering so 2C during normal flight.

I have done some maths , and the example you gave with 70' flight 5kg AUW works only with a quad with 26" propellers and a 1200 grams payload.

Copters with "normal" props around 15-17" will raise the Ampère drawn and make these batteries type more and more difficult to use because of their maximum 3.1 C rate of discharge.

As you, we are passionate about drones and agricultural applications. At the moment, we have developed a low-cost camera that would let you know about health of plants and crops through NDVI multispectral analysis.  The good news is that we will launch it by a crowdfunding project in Kickstarter. Here there are the main features of uSense camera.

To drive our product to the right market we would like to know your comments and thoughts regarding the next questions:

  1. Type of uses that you will do it with a camera like that.

 2. What are the features that you will love add it?

 3. How much you will be willing to pay?

Thank you for your comments, we appreciate the time and any link that you think could help us as well.

If you want to know more, don't hesitate to contact us!

Cheers,

Hi Silvio

I used a My Fly Dream flight controller.
I am based in the UK.
I  was involved with RC airships 20 years ago  and have recently returned to it to  develop an update electric powered system that would be practical and affordable for commercial and leisure market, using off the shelf drone components etc.
regards
Martin
