  • Hello Anwar,

I had the same situation. I got the hole system on an EasyStar in the air after one day. Stable mode was solid from the first second but the tuning of the auto mode took me more than 20 flights. I plan to dokument my way. If it is ready I will inform you.

    Best regards

    Sebastian

  • My combination of hardware consist of only:

    1. Atmega 328 board

    2. EM406 GPS with cable

    3. FMA Co-Pilot and

    4. FTDI cable

Any one who has been using only this combination of hardware is requested to please guide me about the software etc. Thanks.

  • Since August 2009 I have just completed my purchase of basic hardware. Money was not that much an issue for this basic stuff but how to send the money and how to get the stuff was an issue because I live on the other side of the world where purchase through internet is still not possible. My first FMA Co-Pilot got lost in the postage and it took me over two years to get another one.

I had opted for the FMA Co-Pilot option so I have not purchased the air sensor shield. I have got the mini board, GPS and the data cable.

Two years back I had completed studying a book on C++ but now I have to restart everything from zero.  Any suggestions to start the project now please?

  • I feel compelled to ask the question in this forum I have asked in other threads. Has anyone hade trouble with the APv2 using the IMU falling out of range within 10 to 20 ft? I have previously detailed this question but not worked out the problem. I would now just like to use it with an FPV application for the stabilize modes but can't trust launching a plane using it for fear of crashing right away.

@ Mike - Thanks.  It's been a while, I've been getting my new Nitro-003 (AKA RQ-11 Raven) setup.  I had a few mishaps and can say that anyone who wants one of these should get one, they fly GREAT, but you MUST set the throws to what is recommended.

Anyway thanks for your details on the old board, you said, "7 deg was 70 then became 700, PID was .35 for eg, then became 0.035"

Did you mean 7 deg was .70 or 70 as above?

Looking forward to getting the new plane up using the ArduPilot (L) versus the FMA Co-Pilot I've been using.

  • How feassable would it be to try and use a Wii + and Nunchuck as our IMU. Look at all the Quads that use them today on rcgroups. MultiWii, Baron pilot ect. It cant be too hard? If it would be possible to do that and fit it on the memory with all the Autopilot code...

It seems we need a coder or two, and a plan. Maybe the first part of the plan would be to fix a few small things and then later explore the capabilities further. My coding is rudimentary at best, anyone keen to help?

  • Still keen to explore the mileage in this mini wonder

    Thanks Mike.

  • HI all,

Brian, back in the world again( on been home a couple of hours), and now that, my 'prior' engagements are now fullfilled, time is somewhat easier.

Tomorrow i will go get my files from work an PM them.

@Lyn, at first glance, going form 6DoF to 9DoF isnt rocket science, (obviously more investigation is required) but let have a good look into it see what can be done.

as you say no GPS port, but lets face it..the GPS port is simply an I/O on pins..so im sure it can be brutalised into being made to work and its a ardu328...so the code in std form would run...im sure the data would be wrong..but hey thats that this is all about....lets see if we can create an 'in fill'

    Well spotted!

    regards,

    Mike.

Manual for Ardupilot Mega 1.0/1.4

Hi, I have a couple of the older APM boards.  I stopped flying for a few years and kind of lost touch with them.Trying to get back into the hobby now and I've discovered that all the instructions for the old boards are no longer available!  The boards do seem to be working and can be connected to Mission Planner. Could someone please assist by directing me to where the relevant legacy manual can be viewed/downloaded?Thanks so much...

ArduPilot w/ ATMega328 boards & ArduIMU+ V3 kit

Hi there I bought a couple ArduPilot w/ ATMega328 boards a few years back, but didn't get to use them .... work got in the way! I'm still keen to do something with them -- using an IMU set-up - but now that ArduIMU+ V2 (Flat) is no longer available/produced (understandably as much as changed since I bought my boards) it seems that 3D Robotics Inc's ArduIMU+ V3 kit (or the board from SparkFun) is the only IMU available. However, I have read that it isn't compatible with the ArduPilot legacy…

Arming Problem with Ardupilot Mega1.4

I am new to this group. I was using Ardupilot Mega 1.4 for my Quad and it was working reasonably well. I made some frame modification and programmed the board with APM Planner 1.2.67. Then the accelerometer caliberation, radio caliberation completed successfully. But when I tried to arm the quad it was not getting armed. I tried almost every thing I know but could not get it armed, some thing is going wrong. Can anybody help me?
