JJRC 1000A Quadcopter Drone Remember?

JJRC-1000A-Quadcopter.jpg

Quadcopter Drone Flying Characteristics

All in all the JJRC Quadcopter Drone is a very robust, stable flyer. Changing the direction the Quadcopter is pointing towards (the yaw rate) is not spectacular in low rates but is quite acceptable in the top 100% mode. However when flying in this mode be aware any sharp movement on the right stick (mode 2 flying left hand throttle stick) the RC Quadcopter Drone will enter into acrobatic auto-flip mode and perform tight flips.

The LED lights will start a flashing sequence when the battery life is running low. Be warned you don’t get much time left to land the Quadcopter Drone so it is better to fly this model using a timer. Lipo batteries last longer if you don’t run them right down so using a timer has double benefits. Remember to let the motors cool down if you have spare batteries ready to go.

Quadcopter Drone Body Styling

The body shell of the JJRC 1000A resembles that of the much larger DJI Phantom and is a welcome change from all the Hubsan X4 look-a-likes. The propeller blade shapes are of a very similar shape to those used on the Walkera QR Ladybirds albeit slightly larger.

Quadcopter Drone Transmitter

A real plus with this model is you get a ‘Proper’ sized Remote Control RC Quadcopter Drone Transmitter. Nearly all under $30 Micro and Mini Quadcopter Drones have tiny transmitters that are OK for smaller hands but can cause stress for those with larger hands. It is therefore plain to see that this under $30 Drone is a great learning tool and will teach any beginner the basic Quadcopter flying skills. It will also prepare YOU well if and when YOU want to move up to bigger Quadcopter Drones.

JJRC Quadcopter Drone Review from Drone Flyers

We took the JJRC 1000A outside today and had a blast with it. We can’t get over how quiet it is unlike some of the other Quadcopter Drones in this class. The lightweight body shell and larger size propellers don’t seem to strain the motors and in 100% mode the flips are awesome. It was a pleasure to fly, fast and easy to control.

Over the next few weeks the Drone Flyers Team are going to put this RC Quadcopter Drone through some rigorous testing. Having flown the JJRC 1000A indoors over Christmas and studied all the Best Drone Reviews of this model we are certain that this is one of the finest under $30 Quadcopter Drones you can buy.

Preferred Motors Of DRL Pilots

Preferred-Motors-Of-DRL-Pilots-1.jpg

Even among drone enthusiasts, many can be surprised when they learn that drone racing has effectively become a sport. Not very long ago, the “Drone Racing League” was basically being tested by ESPN, shown on television during odd hours and such. However, once ESPN essentially renewed DRL for a second “season,” so to speak, it seemed the sport was established. Just last month, the DRL announced the 2018 world championships, which will be sponsored by Allianz and held in Saudi Arabia. That certainly signifies that they’re ramping things up a notch (and looking to get foreign markets more involved, no doubt).

Naturally, this means that the pilots who compete in the league have gotten more serious (and will continue to get more serious as the league grows). Accordingly, their drones are being built more and more competitively. As one article on the growth of DRL and its expansion into sports betting markets pointed out, the pilots’ drones are not like those that have traditionally been built for stability and steady video shooting. Rather, racing drones are built for speed and maneuverability. That makes them intriguing to fans and more casual drone users who want to hone their skills using these machines recreationally, rather than for casual use, shooting video, etc.

Most professional pilots, however, aren’t merely purchasing drones and flying them out of the box. Rather, they’re piecing together their drones with high-end parts from a variety of companies. The DRL site has a full list of pilots and gear, if you happen to have a favorite pilot (or drone) you’d like to emulate. But just for a sampling, here are a few of the preferred motors from top pilots.

Electrify RC 2206 2450kv

This is the preferred motor of 32Bitsofgil, who’s become one of the better up-and-coming pilots on the circuit (insofar as anyone can be a newcomer in such a new sport). There was a previous version of this motor without a “kv” rating, which refers to its constant velocity. This updated model, when paired with a quadcopter, can make for a very capable drone. This motor can be bought for only about $20.

Should consider factors when selecting drone frame

How-to-choose-best-racing-drone-frame.jpg

Whenever you are looking for racing drone frame, there are the main factor you should always consider when choosing drone frame.

Sizes
X or H type
Weight
Materials

Size: This most important factor to consider before deciding to choose the best racing drone frame is the size of the arm. The size of the arm will guide and help to determine which kind of the props can be used without any effect. The prop restriction varies from one min quad to another one. Therefore you should always need to check the quadcopter before agreeing to buy.

There are basic rules of thumb that may help you understand below they include:
The arms under 200m. This arms can only be able to support props that are no longer than 4''.
The arms that are 200mm to 21 in length are capable of supporting props that are no bigger than 5''.
The arms which are 225mm to about 250mm long can make a support of 6'' props.

Tips about quadcopter lipo battery

Lipo battery have become an essential part of drone, but if you do not know maintain them, here you come the right place.

how-long-to-charge-drone-battery.jpg

How to charge a lipo battery for the first time?

In my experiences, the IR of lipo battery is still coming down after 5 cycles even as many as 10 cycles, therefore you will have more better flights from a battery with 10 cycles on it than with 5 cycles on it for the first time.

As we know, in battery safety instructions is that 1c charge rate is the standard “safe” rate.

Charging amps is depended your lipo battery brand and capacity, therefore it’s very important in chosing the best battery for quadcopter. such as, Gensace lipo battery can be charged at up to 5C but not every brand can to do, as well.

How do I know when it is charged?

Charge times = Charge coefficient * Battery capacity / Charge current

Mostly,For the vast majority of LiPos, the Charge Rate is 1C, therefore the charge coefficient value is 1.1 and charge with 0.2C then coefficient value is 1.5.

Typically, a 1c charge rate is going to charge a lipo in around an hour, no matter the cell count or capacity.

Generally, the charger you bought will stop charging when the voltage hits 4.2 per cell, it can chase the voltage until it reaches the voltage, it is no need to worry about that.

But it is depended the brand of charger. A quality product make out customer confident and convenient.

How to choose the best battery for quadcopter?

Before choosing the battery for your quadcopter, you should know about the flight times, C-rate, Capacity, Average Amp Draw, brands and price of the battery.

For example,

Flight time =(Battery Capacity * Battery Discharge /Average Amp Draw)*60

For calculate your quadcopter flight time, you have to know three factors: Battery Capacity , Battery Discharge and Average Amp Draw

It's a complex process that I high recommend this detail article about how to choose the best battery for quadcopter, After reading it, you will know how to do.

How to keep your drone flying continuously?

There is actually a ton of ways to extend the battery life of your drone without having to insert a new battery unless that’s your plan. However, if you want some other options to try, we’ve got them.

  1. Knowing when to charge the battery
  2. Keep an extra battery
  3. Check the weather before you go
  4. Remove your camera
  5. Remove the prop guards
  6. Don’t destroy your battery
  7. The proper voltage

Extending your flight time is easy as pie, and there is a ton of ways to do so. Knowing how to extend the flight time to the full extent of your drone is solely based on your drone, so knowing your drone is very important.

How to protect lipo batteries?

The charging current must not exceed the maximum current specification identifies the general should not exceed 2C;

Discharge current may not exceed the maximum current specification logo.

The battery should be done to treat transport filling , crash and other measures to prevent the battery to severe shocks or vibration ;

No over discharging, No over-charging, No fully-charged storage

Quadcopter ESC: Type, Firmware and Key parameters

Before choosing the best esc for quadcopter or FPV, you should know some ESC knowledges (Type, Firmware and Key parameters) as below.

Quadcopter-ESC-Types.jpg

ESC type

A Brushed Motor has a rotating set of wound wire coils which acts as an electromagnet with two poles.

A Brushless Motor uses a permanent magnet external rotor, three phases of driving coils, one or more devices to sense the position of the rotor, and the associated drive electronics.

The output of the ESC line, brushed have two lines, brushless have three lines, connected to the motor;

Brush-and-brushless-motors.jpg

Which type is the best?

As we know, most all of quadcopter esc is brushless, because of High efficiency, Higher speed range, no voltage drop across brushes.

The downside of brushless esc is that they are more expensive than most brushed types, however, the extra price is usually more than worthwhile as they will last MUCH longer.

Esc firmware

For base on open source firmware, there are 3 main types of firmwares, which can be divided into blheli, simonk and kiss firmware.

I would personally go for Blheli. Why is it so? Well, considering how fast Blheli has undergone improvements, it has been able to beat simonk on the performance. However, Kiss beats them hand-down on performance!

Between simonk and Blheli, I previously would go for simonk but not anymore. Currently, I think Blheli is really undergoing revolutionary improvements on its features.

Although the difference in size between Blheli and kiss might not be that big, the difference is still a front leap for kiss firmware.

Key parameters of esc

Max Amp Rating

The maximum amperage an ESC can handle needs to be greater than the motor/prop combination will draw. If the amperage rating is not high enough, it could overheat and die.In terms of ESC, suggesting 20%-50% extra Amps is good rule to ensure your ESC do not burn out.

Voltage from battery

Make sure your ESCs the ability to withstand the voltage from the chosen battery.  We assume that as we know our battery atleast 88A current. So here we will take ESC current is less 88A, maybe 60A is ok.

Although above is a personal opinion based on my experience, I believe that it is an opinion that is shared by a majority of quadcopter owners!

Please leave your message if have any questions about any thing.

basic parameters of drone battery

Here are some tips to help you consider the main parameters for choosing a lipo battery for your drone.

Main parameters

Capacity

Normally, more capacity is mean more power and more energy. In fact As the battery gets larger, the increase in flight time becomes ineffective, because of the weight of battery. You should have to think about the weight when consider the capcity, Should not be absorbed in choosing bigger capacity battery simply.

 Discharge Rate

Discharge Rate is yet another crucial aspect that need to be checked before you decide to settle for any battery for your drone. You need to get a battery whose C rating is convenient for your drone. you have to compare target c-rating and battery c-racing. In short, my principle is that battery c-racing  is greater than  target c-rating but not too higher.

Voltage

With a higher cell count, performance is maintained above par. However, higher cell counts translate to an increase in weight which, in some cases, affects performance. Choosing the right voltage of battery, you should reference in the datasheet of motor and esc.

Connectors

There are many common connectors include Deans, XT60, EC3 and JST etc. What is the performance impact of these connectors?

Drone battery connectors

  • JST connector – up to 5A
  • XT60 connectors- up to 60 Amps
  • Deans – up to 60 Amps
  • EC3 connector – up to 60 Amps
  • EC5 connector- up to 120 Amps

Brand

Tattu , Bonka, Multistar, Turnigy , Zippy , Graphene , SMC, Dronelabs, Ready MadeRC, ThunderPower, Floureon, Venom, Pulse , E-flite etc. Which one is the best one? All of them are good enough, I highly recommend Tattu battery.

Conclusion

Choosing the right drone battery is no doubt important, and looking after your lipo battery is also important.

If you have any question of any thing about the main parameters for choosing your drone battery and have more experiences, please leave your message on here, Thank you.

Turnigy graphene review 1300mah

 Cool-Performance-graphene-test-768x529.png?width=740

As above image you see, Typically I see the end temperature around 130F to 140F. Again, the Turnigy graphene pack performed much better than a standard LiPo. After more than 80% discharge at 27A it was barely warm at 108.5F!

Conclusion

Can turnigy graphene increase flight time for quadcopter? Yes, but not exactly. In fact, according to our survey, graphene material just assisted as additives to increase the performance of lipo battery. So far, they are all more or less good for increasing the performance.

Gradually along with the mass production and large size problem, the industrialization application of graphene is speeding up, based on the existing research results, the commercial application of the first field would be on a mobile device, aerospace, new energy battery and drone field.

Now, there are many brands of graphene battery in the market such as Turnigy, Arris, Grazepony etc. Which one would you like to purchase? Please leave your messages on here, if you have any questions about the graphene battery.
