3,2,1... Blink !!!

3689414886?profile=original

Big thanks to Sandro for tutoring me on that one :)

There is an option to connect LEDs to the IMU, using the same pins we going to control 12V LED Strips :)

You can get those at Hobby-King:

LED-S-BL.jpg?width=200

Next we need this guy:

ULN2003

Important thing is not to go over 700mA, on all channels. So the LED strips can't be longer than 9 LEDs per arm.

check LEDs datasheet, maybe you can use more (or less)

Here is some pictures of the process :)

Cut the long legs :) and shrink tube it.3689415032?profile=originalAnd you done:)

Here is the leds.pde, it have that blinking part in it, but you can go crazy here :)

ACM Y6 in a desert :)

ACM Y6

Ardu Copter Mega rev.1914

Motors: BC2836 750kv ESC: 30A

Props: Top 10x45 EPP , Bottom 10x45 EPP Composite

3S 5000mah

Jason added a new function to CH6 "magic knob", to control top/bottom speed ratio... Thanks :)

So now we can tune top motors speed, in air, it have 20% window, (80% to 100%). more on that in wiki after ACM goes public :))))

One of the problems in Y6 setup, is vibration from the props :( (you can see it in on-board video)

one solution is to use composite props, I only have 3 of those left :) so I used the black plastic ones on top motors.

the plastic props are too soft :(

Now I need to get all the sand out of the motors :) and make a new GoPro mount :)

start building yours Y6 frames  :)))))))

After using this setup for as my 'mode' switch:

it worked OK :)

But I decided to take it to next DIY level :)

There is 3 knobs on FlySky FS-TH9X radio, they are B5K potentiometers:

so we need to pick one of them that we going to replace with any available 6 position rotary switch.

(I have this one and it fits right)

Unsolder the 3  wires from B5K:

3689397360?profile=originalAnd remove the B5K from the radio :)

Next we need to make a small array of resistors that will act as B5K pot, when we switch to different modes.

The brown wire (  middle one on B5K ) feeds different voltage to the radio channel.

Now we need to add the switch that will connect the brown wire to each position.

And now we have solid 6 modes switch for APM and ACM :)

This is a "kitchen table setup" so if someone can measure better resistors value, pleas do :)

Its much easier than trying to setup some channels mix in this radio :)

Hope it was helpful.

TX Mode 1 and 2 quick tutorial

This TX is FlySky - TH9X same as Turnigy 9X 9Ch and many more brands ( they use almost same body )

So if you like to change from one mode to another,

you need to move two parts from one stick to another

1. Metal plate thats holds Throttle stick in position (not going back to middle)

2. Plastic arm and spring ( to get the stick go back to the middle)

Here some closeups on the parts, its easy just open the back panel, move the sticks and you'll what moves what :)

I'll try to do a video some day ...
