FY21 AP stabilizer started out as a great FPV product with functions like Auto circle and Return to home etc. Now the system will have an upgrade option so it's possible to do mouse point navigation via a laptop.
With the upgrade is becomes a simple Autopilot with one way point navigation at a time via Google Earth map.
The system use FY 606 2.4Ghz 100mW data link to send commands from the GCS. (4 km range).
Go to the Map and click to the point where you wish the plane will fly to and auto circle.
At any time, you may change the point to fly to by clicking on ―Click point‖ again, and selecting another point on the map.
After the plane reaches the selected point, it will automatically engage auto circling with a radius of 120 meters and at a fixed altitude.
The FY21-AP upgrade will be available later this month.
I'm going to mount this 10 x zoom camera under wing inside fuselage in my Skywalker. There is space for it. it will be pointing out to the left side of the plane because the FY 21 AP will turn left in circle mode.
The system are very simple and also low cost. The servo got mems gyro inside. I know it wont stabilize the camera 100 % but I think it will be OK for armature UAV flying.
I want to introduce this "new" simpel UAV system (FY-21AP)
IMU stabilizer with functions like:
Auto stabilizing
Return to Home function
Auto circle over given position
Hold altitude
RC normal flight.
Three working modes: Mode 1: Closed mode: All control of the model plane is determined by the manipulator. FY-21A passes through all RC commands to the model. Full control of the airplane is in the hands of the operator.
Mode 2: Auto balance mode: In this mode, if FY-21AP senses the change of flying attitude, it will give a control gain to amend the plane automatically into a horizontal flying attitude. This is of course for roll and pitch.
Mode 3: Fixed–Altitude fly Mode: For this mode it is just like auto balance mode with the exception that it will also will take the current altitude as the target altitude and maintain this elevation. The operator needs only to control the direction of the plane with no worries as to the planes altitude changing.
Two Special Modes: Special Mode 1: Auto Return Mode .In this mode, the plane flies to the return point automatically. The system will take the the current altitude (at the time special mode 1 was selected) as the target altitude and keep flying in this height. The plane will then return to the home position and circle around that point in a radius of 120m.
Special Mode 2: Auto Circling Mode. In this mode, the plane will circle its current position. The system will take the current altitude (at the time special mode 2 was selected) as the target altitude and keep flying in this height. The plane will then circle around that point in a radius of 120m
Special Mode off: when the three way toggle switch is in the middle this means the special mode function is off.
These modes are controlled by two separate channels on your receiver.
The system is a very good place to start out. It's more or less PnP and very easy to tune the gains. It's not an Autopilot where you can add waypoints, but you can switch into auto circle mode at any given point in your flight and if you loose video signal you can switch into Auto return home.

Let me interduce the FY-3ZT autopilot for small UAV.
Yes! it's made in China. Yes! it will be low cost. Price level (not set yet) No! I didn't test it yet. Working on it.
The company who made it call it FY-3ZT! Lets call it jealouspilot. Just a joke.
The Data modem I got with the test sample is the small 2,4 Ghz. (Also provide a long range 433 Mhz 500 mW like the one on the picture.

I don't know about the power of this modem. (but for amateur flying, It will be just fine LOS).
Some of the software was on Chinese So I had to find the right driver by my self. It wasn't a problem just a little annoying.
This is the Autopilot system: It's like "PnP" Everything fits and ready for installation.
This is for Ground station Plug into PC via USB. Also more or les "PnP". (I know this is not the best antenna bla bla) This was what was in the box)
The driver for USB to Serie was on Chinese!.
And now for the Commodore 64 look a like GSC.
You are able to fine tune the settings in Air.

Integrate automatic and manual remote control, higher reliability and practicality, and is compatible with all common RC remote control facilities, and to provide Servo output checking.
Auto-return protection of communication interruption.
Distance Automatic photography.
The ground station software contains electronic map that can change the route and tasks online, real-time semi-autonomous remote control, and can real-time record flight data and play back off-line.
Adjust and save all the control parameters on line, with the convenience standalone parameter adjustment software.
Contains the autopilot power supply voltage monitoring, electric aircraft power voltage monitoring, GPS accuracy of detection and autopilot temperature detection. Technical parameter.

I know it smells like DIY project.It is low cost and very easy to build, but what is it?BTW it's working.It has 4 selectable channels in the standard 2.4GHz ISM band. It provides you with one composite video and stereo audio output signal.

I got my Sony Webbie! and with the wide lense.It's installed in the nose of my easystar, I was a little nervous if it was too heavy for the star.The test flight went ok, although the weather was bad.I think it's a great camera for UAV and FPV, although it is big for the Easystar.*AV out.*Hi res HD on the SD card.
