Lesson learned: Always remove the propellers when testing!

Stupidly I left the props on while preparing a demo of one of my kk quads. The board malfunctioned while disarmed, props shattered and sliced most of the pad of my pinky finger right off. It took a trip to the hospital and 13 stitches to get it back on.

Finger 4 stitches in (Not for the faint of heart)

PSA: ALWAYS REMOVE PROPS WHILE TESTING AND NEVER USE BROKEN PROPS

DIY Drones and Sparkfun AVC featured in Documentary.

Though quite brief the Canadian documentary " Remote Control War Zone" Showed clips of the Sparkfun autonomous vehicle competition and briefly interviewed Chris Anderson. The doc is very interesting to watch but I believed it to be exaggerated and put Amateur drones in a bad light as a evil technology that could be used by other countries for wars.

Quad-copter featured in upcoming video game

In a new video game called "Homefront" you will be able to use a quad-copter with the ability to shoot bullets and drop bombs in the multiplayer campaign. It is named the "RQ-11 Parrot" and looks uncannily like a Parrot AR drone mixed with a Draganfly X4. The game also includes a battery meter and speed upgrades.
