WLToys V262 Cyclone Quadcopter: Six-Axis High Performance Drone

"I went thru a set of motors flying with a HK 720 wing cam. I had about 20 flights. I broke in the motors and oiled the bearings before camera work, waiting for replacement motors sucks. I got all the bits and pieces (gears, shafts, arms main cross…"

How to Fly a Quadcopter: Banked Turns

"If anyone is wondering what quadcopter this was, it's just a $48 WLToys V212 6-axis quadcopter.  I removed the landing skid and canopy to lighten it up a bit.  But it's a very nimble quad for a toy as you can see."

Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest
There are tons of websites out there that promote quadcopters, and go into great detail on building quite expensive setups from scratch. Yet there are almost nil that actually explain how to fly one. Most people have to learn from trial and error. What's up with that? The end result is people who barely know how to fly are sending their sometimes quite heavy and expensive quads over populated areas. It is an accident waiting to happen.

I feel that a cheap $40 toy quadcopter can more than pay for itself by preventing the loss of a follow-on hobby grade quad. For those considering this hobby, I highly recommend that they start slow, and learn to fly (and fly well) as their very first objective. After that, then consider stepping up in this hobby. They'll be less likely to lose their quad, and endanger spectators
