Hey Chris,

  I've been keeping up with the legal side of things here in the States. Are you in England? I'm sure the laws are different there. I'm holding off right now on buying anything because things are changing so much. If I wait I'll be able to get something better and cheaper. I do like the UAV's sold here. I also think the DJI UAV's might work too. The important things you'll need is beside the UAV is a good camera, they're getting better all the time. A good software program to make the point clouds and orthographic images, and the ability to get good coordinates on ground control points using GNSS. The UAV will also need to be able to tag each picture with the GNSS coordinates. I think this is just to get the pictures in order so the software can then figure things out, the GNSS coordinates of the images are not used to figure out the ground coordinates. Each image needs ground control points and you want a lot of overlap in all the pictures. I'm told Agisoft makes the best software. Check out posts by Gisela & Joe Noci they are big experts on this field. Good luck!

Hello Chris. No problem, if I can help...I am not a surveyor, but have supplied systems to a half dozen surveyors and worked closley with them to make the whole system work ( UAV, cameras, Ground station and ease of flight planning, Geo-Software, etc) Lets see If I can help?
