There are amazing possibilities with a UAS. I am experimenting around with different ducted fan airframes and configurations. Also, I am concerned with the security issues and hoping to help with ideas to build security into the industry from the beginning.
Just wondering if you made any improvements or changes to the ducted fan quad, i.e. along the lines of the larger blade, lighter duct mentioned by llya R.? Also, did you make any videos of flight, etc.?
Hi Josh I am wondering what you are using to control your attitude. I have been granted license to build for market the Moller M400X Skycar. I do intend to make it transition to forward flight and yaw control would be through differential throttle at that point. My forward edf's would act as ailerons while the rears would act as elevators in forward flight. I would also mix rudder/ aileron for the banking turns. Each edf would have shutters directing the thrust downwards at a 45 degree so that it would also not only provide lift but forward motion. Any thoughts you have for stability control would be great. I know I will need a 3 axis gyro, but I wonder whether I will need them on the motor channels as well for take-off hover. I intend to use 55mm or 50mm edf's.
