Profile Information

About Me:
Moved into the wonderful world of R/C, UAVs and UGVs when a old friend introduced me to DIY Drones and asked for help with his ArduPilot powered Easystar plane.

I joined the APM:Rover developer team and so met Thomas J Coyle and Andrew Tridgell in 2012.

In 2014 i joined and helped out the (LOHAN) Low Orbit Helium Assisted Navigator mission with fiddling the avionics into a 3D printed rocket plane. RIP Goodspeed Lester!
Please tell us a bit about your UAV interest
Main Interest right now shifting towards bigger Systems and Linux related developments.

Please look at for infos about the BBBmini DIY Linux Autopilot Kit.

I’m available for hire!

Psst! I'm looking for a job at the intersection of software and the physical world.

If you like what you see on this site i'm available to work on all creative drone things including video, photography, design, and web.

DIY Linux autopilot - cool for cats... and geeks

Posted on November 20, 2015 at 6:00am 13 Comments

I want to share with you the tremendous fun I'm having with the BBBmini DIY ArduPilot project, which I discovered during the summer. Hopefully, I can demonstrate what a sexy DIY Linux Autopilot for around 100 bucks looks like and convince you why Linux autopilots are cooler than a cat…

Hi all,

i wanted to write down the journey i did over the past few years after a friend pointed me to

I was quickly hooked by the hobby virus after assembling, flying and crashing my first rc-plane and afterwards fiddling around to get a APM1…

Hi Linus, I think it is an excellent idea that we coordinate.

I've got full access to the new Wiki again.

Busy trying to bring up PX4's on both a FlameWheel f330 quad and a Stampede ArduRover. - What could possibly go wrong?

As I said to Tom, the a lot of the ArduRover stuff is obviously very out of date and it seems like it would be better to take a look at what resources we have now and actually construct a new Wiki more appropriately around them.

We can reuse any of the old stuff that is still relevant, but I think we might start with an outline of what pages we think we ought to have.

Maybe figure out the Table of Contents (which the drop down menu will follow as well) first.

Adding the PX4 and all the new operating modes, kind of makes a single Configuration page cumbersome at best.
