yes, the HM-TRP should handle 2400 baud. I bought two of them and I guess that mine are for a much a much higher baud rate configured.  The pairing is ok (green LEDs permanent) The TX signal is ok but no RX signal and non of the red LED is flashing. The problem is that I am not able reconfigure the HM-TRPs. I will search for an "expert" who may reprogramm it for cash.

Another solution may be the 3 DR Radio V2. At least I found some connectivity kits for reprogramming. But again in this field I have no experience.
