I have had great success this lat year using a SkyWalker2013 with a PixHawk AP. I see you are in touch with EcoDrones and they use Event38 equipment, so I would suggest you buy a plane from E38 or EcoDrones, if you do not have the budget for that, buy a SkyWalker 2013 kit from China and then buy the PixHawk and parts you need from 3DR and RC model shops.
I saw your question on the Canon s100 Ovidio. Likely cause of your issue is that you need to provide a +5volt for the specified period on the correct USB pin into the camera. Pixhawk outputs 3v, so you need to bump the voltage or use one of those weird setups seen elsewhere on this forum and on APM:Copter.
Be sure you have CHDK running on your S100, you cannot do anything without that software to control your camera.
