Using other GPSes

I am interested in using Arducopter 3.x (esp. 3.1) and an APM2.5 with GPS units other than the 3DR GPS. In particular, I want to use the much less expensive ublox NEO-6M gps rather than the…Continue

As far as I can tell, most tilt-rotors and other VTOLs with non-hover ability seem to convert fully to forward flight with little to no hover thrust. Which of course means all the caprices of…Continue

Re your comment that you would be fine with AMA if we could carve out a place.........

Please get the recent copy of The April issue of Model Aviation and see for your self. They are carving out a place for fpv.

1. Start with the cover shot of a DJI 550 and camera

2. Then go to page 23 "FPV"for beginners.

3. Privacy Concerns Drive New State Legislation"

4. Pg 101 - "sUAS Aircraft, Models, and US"

5. AMA has a booth at AUVSI in Orlando in May.

6. I almost certain that AMA will have an event in the summer of 2015. Too late this year to plan it.

AMA is our only lobby voice in the FAA and Congress.

These facts should help make you fine with AMA.
