DIYDrones now at 13,000 members

3689382424?profile=originalAs is customary and traditional, we announce each new thousand members. Now we're at 13,000 members. Growth is continuing to accelerate. We now add an average of one new member every 70 minutes. Given the screening process to accept new members (they have to fill out an admission form and be approved by a moderator, a process that is designed to avoid spammers, which we've been quite good at keeping away), this is not bad at all. At the current rate, we'll break 1 million page views a month by Feb.

  • Congrats!
  • That is great the adsense revenues are available to cover hosting fees and development. Onward.

  • Let me rephrase:

We have almost half as much traffic as the AMA website and far more useful content than the AMA website. Not bad considering the AMA has ten times as many members.  :)

Duane: not quite, but we're getting there:

The first 100 was the hardest ;-) Things really have changed over the last few years. Its so simple now to get started. Wonder how long it will take to double this number. There are an awful lot of people out there that don't know they will be interested in UAS yet ;-)

  • We already have more traffic and useful content than the AMA website. : )

Happy: Google adsense revs are a a few hundred bucks a month, which pays for the Ning hosting fees and any development costs we have on new features here. To make a site an actual business based on advertising, you'd need ten times as much traffic as we have and a proper ad sales team (not just adsense).

  • Very nice! Now where are the ad revenue numbers :) j/k....

    Congrats!

  • The graphic's ramp looking very smooth and stable.  I hope we will be more than 20.000 members in next year

    Congratulations
