I recently came across the 3Doodler on Kickstarter.  Imagine creating some of your quad parts with this!:)

It's a pen that can draw in the air! 3Doodler is the 3D printing pen you can hold in your hand. Lift your imagination off the page!

3Doodler is the world’s first and only 3D Printing Pen. Using ABS plastic (the material used by many 3D printers), 3Doodler draws in the air or on surfaces. It’s compact and easy to use, and requires no software or computers. You just plug it into a power socket and can start drawing anything within minutes.

  • What you see here is a 3D printer without the housing/steppermotors/rails/control etc. It's an "hotend" ABS/PVA feeder and power supply ( it looks like it uses a battery)

  • Interesting idea.  Unfortunately, most people, including myself, will not have the sculpting skills to produce anything, but blobs of unrecognisable plastic.  I much prefer to draw in the computer, and let my 3D printing robot lay down the plastic for me.

  • Like Harold and the Purple Crayon.
  • Imagine....you fell out of a plane....zip out this thing and draw a parachute!

or you fell off the boat....draw a lifepreserver...or better yet, draw a boat.

    wow...this would be cool.

  • Not sure that I'm prepared to support anyone that'll rush off to China at the drop of a hat to get their invention commercialised...

  • My kid just signed up for that as a birthday present for me. Not sure it is useful, but it sure looks fun.
