My first bungee launch (crunch!)

3689422042?profile=originalI've just equipped a falcon epo flying wing from hk with an ardupilot mega and a gopro.

I try to launch it with a diy bungee launcher without much success, this launch has not damaged the wing but after the second launch i've to glue it (after a crash because the wind have moved).

The motor is a dt750 with a 11x4.7 propeller. I need more rpm but i've nothing better to test it.

  • Yes, it's inspired from one that i've seen on rcgroups (on the topic about the falcon plane). I've not it in my home for the moment (i've not the space to store it in my appartment) but next time i will make some pics. It's very simple and fast to construct.

  • Think you could post some pics on the launcher, I wouldnt mind building one :D

  • No, I didnt use a camera

  • I've not get the time to try an other flight, but I will try the next week ! Do you have put any camera on it ?

  • Hi! very nice! I have the same plane with APM too... but I didn't test it yet. I only flew the model in manual mode. Did you try it again? Let me know please, I am interested!

  • Yes, next time i will try to pilot it :D I put the battery under the apm (we can see it on the photo), I glue the apm on it with double sided tape and I glue the battery on the falcon with double sided tape too. Nothing moved, even in the crash, and you can close the cockpit without any problem. With the gopro under the falcon, it's perfectly balanced. I use a 3s 2650mA battery (zippy flightmax from hobbyking)

  • The catapult looked great. It was the lack of any one or anything piloting it after launch..

  • Where do you put the battery on that thing? I have a Falcon on the way and am planing on putting APM on board. Does the battery go on top?
