    How can you make such a statement if you have never flown with Ali's machine ? What do you we know about the AP, not much unfortunately.

    I watched 3 different videos with this copter and in one of them he is doing high speed runs then stopping directly in front of camera.

    And it does manage a very fast high G stop without climbing and clearly making use of the rotating motor arms.

    I won't argue that a conventional quad isn't a better racer, you can make a case either way - is the extra weight worth the performance gain? It is certainly not clear at this time.

    All wheel drive and extra axle Formula 1 race cars are still trying to prove those concepts too.

    But one thing he said does certainly make sense, you can maintain a more useful forward looking FPV image with the tilting motors than the extreme angles you get with normal hard mounting of the FPV camera.

    Of course you could include a brushless pitch Gimbal and achieve that,

    But then you are back into the extra weight, fragility and complexity stuff again and without the potential aerodynamic boost of keeping your frame level inline with your direction of travel.

    Alishanmao has done some interesting stuff in the past, and even though he is certainly by no means the first to employ this concept, he has done a remarkably competent and successful job of it.

    And his videos are always interesting to watch.

    i watched video in high-definition and do not noticed any tilt - only usual frame body  w powerfull engine

  • It case is fake "inventions" and seems as useless for the intended application.

    Only purpose droneracers is the reduction aerodynamic drag.

    However, in this case  result is the much heavier and complicates frame and electric design.

    Reduced weight-performance ratio is critical for speed racing.

    More over the "dynamic setting" will never be pose in optimal angle for a fast-paced speed and complexity with aggressive aerobatics.

    Usually people just do preset of tilt (no more 30 degrees). At the maximum speed  these models will be reach the optimal position of the body and thus easily push 80mph .

    At the same time, such frames are lightweight and predictable in piloting. And cost effective =]

    And no need any alahuackbar.

  • I have a question: Is the added degree of freedom (motor tilt) controlled by an extra controller channel or is it coupled with an existing one (eg pitch)?

  • Always enjoy seeing what alishanmao comes up with.

    Great 250 copter and the rotating motor arms really do work - really great braking.

    Great flying too, albeit here the FAA would drop a hammer on your head for it.
