I agree! From The Verge:

In today's Senate drone hearing, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) got personal, describing a rally held outside her home earlier this year. "I went to the window to peek out, and there was a drone right there looking in. Obviously the drone's pilot was surprised, because the drone wheeled around and crashed," she told the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation. "What kind of camera was on the drone? What kind of microphone? Could an enterprising person have attached a firearm to it?"

The hearing mostly concerned with the FAA's roadmap for regulating civilian drone use, spurred on by Amazon's recent announcement of a drone delivery program. But Senator Feinstein used her time to specifically speak out specifically against the prospect of private citizens equipping drones with deadly force, potentially opening the door for a new legislative avenue regulating the unmanned crafts. "We should not allow armed drones in the United States, period," the Senator told the committee. "It should be a crime for a private individual to arm a drone."

  • Rrrriiigght... Tell me, what is the point in possessing such technology if one is not to arm it in some way?  Throw me a frickin' bone here!  It's so hard to be evil these days.  This is not the first time this has happened either.

Today, it seems, every single diabolical scheme I hatch is being thwarted by do-gooders like Mrs Dianne Feinstein bent on wrapping the world up in a complex web green and red tape...  Sometimes, I can't help but get all nostalgic reminiscing about the days when hollowing the volcano on your remote island was a simple and straightforward affair.  These days it's all limits on allowable floorspace, environmental impact statements, mandatory ecological studies, sediment monitoring regimes, exclusion zones... It is enough to make a maniacal genius like me want to quit being a frickin' job creator and geocentrically freeze myself for another 50 years.

  • Made up? probably not. Took an event and added 'facts' and happenings to change the view of the whole thing? Definitely.
  • Id put my bottom dollar that she made up the story to boot. Those types do this all the time.

  • [Hillbillies on the subject of California]

Aunt Pearl: You folks oughta move yourselves to a place like... Beverly Hills, Californy.
Jethro: They got swimming pools and movie stars!
Elly May: I hear they got smog.
Daisy Mae 'Granny' Moses: What's a smog?
    [pause]
    Jethro: I reckon it's a small hog.

  • Well yeah, lots of places would be great places to live if politics didn't ruin them.

But you got people like this woman making the rules. This woman who stood in front of a crowd with an AK and her finger on the trigger.
  • I love California geographically, but I do not miss the politics.

    Has anyone seen this?

  • Haha, TBD! Everyone knows, you never go full retard.

  • Using the logical argument that laws only hurt law following citizens does not work. Otherwise the 'anti-gun nut legislationists' would have given up a while ago.

And I believe Feinstein was the one who famously went full retard and said criminals will lay down their guns when they see law biding citizens relinquish their arms.
  • If you dumb it down a bit, using a drone to commit a crime with a firearm is fundamentally no different than using the mechanical linkage, springs, pin and hammer between your finger and the primer of a real bullet. Either way you look at it, there is a machine between the human and the projectile. Why the hell does it matter if it's a flying robot or not? Someone, somewhere, pulled the trigger.

Anybody with intent of using a drone to commit murder isn't doing so under the false impression that they are using some sort of loophole in the law. Therefore, a law specifically prohibiting it won't stop someone who plans on doing it anyway. Just my 2 cents.

  • Well, senator Feinstein is at it again! She needs a Grammy for her countless acts of Fear Mongering.
