  • I have one, crappy frame ! Choose an other one.

I posted some pictures of what is boring with this frame here on link here :

    Saludos

  • Pedro boa tarde!

como está a montagem da X5 Pró? Conseguiu embarcar a a6000? Voa bem?

    GRato

  • @Gustavo: I aim to achieve the maximum endurance (the longest traveled distance at speed 12-18m/s, with the same battery pack and performing RTL when battery is low). So that I'm running calcs on MotoCalc and I'm trying to make it the closest to the reality, that's why i need the airfoil or maybe the Cl and Cd of the SW X5pro wings. I have the idea that MotoCalc makes the work assuming a straight wing shape, and we know that the Cl is lower for a swept wing with the same area and span of a straight wing.

  • @Jeff Riedjik:

Are you planning to hotwire an airfoil of your own? It would be interesting to do that and vaccuum form a pod. Let me know.

@Pedro: Have you flown it? What is the stall speed and autonomy? Have you thought about fiberglassing the bottom part (So it would last a bit longer?)

    Cheers

  • Hi! Do you guys have ever modeled the SW X5 pro wing airfoil?

Could you please let me know the thickness percentage and camber percentage?

    Thank you!

I am using the google translate translator, to translate Spanish into English. So excuse me, if something sounds strange.

Pedro the idea of using the parameters of the X5 seems to me the best, is a very good starting point for the initial configuration of the X5 Pro and then make the corresponding adjustments. Note the RC receiver antennas too close to the motor is best placed next to the pixhawk controller. The motor generates a magnetic field that can affect the signal. It would be important to see the possibility of placing the wind speed sensor or pitot tube for takeoffs and autonomous landings I think? Although this last one I have not tried it seems to me something very interesting to evaluate with this flying wing and in my project I have considered it to evaluate.

I have a question. Where you got the circuit to shoot the camera from the controller. I made one for APM, but for Pixhawk I was consulting to put it together but I did not get it to work.

Important to keep posting photos of your progress, I also set up a test bench with the controller and sensors to configure them before installing them in the X5 Pro. I send you the photograph.

  • Initially, I will use mine S110 for the first tests. If everything turns up well, I’ll buy a new Sony A6000 and give it a try.

I'll keep posting more as it progresses
