I set up three 3k circles around my field to test range and how the Raptor would perform during an actual travel environment, and it performed very, very well. A perfect flight. You may see at the end I realize that my RTL altitude was set to zero, but luckily I was quick enough to set a guided mode until I could manually return it home.

  • Hi Trent. Great show! Two days ago I just had my maiden flight with arduplane. Yesterday I got already RTL and waypoint navigation working. Your show helped me really a lot. You propable although saved me from a few crashes and many frustrated hours.

    You can set the RTL altitude in mission planner in the advanced parameters list. The parameter is ALT_HOLD_RTL. The default value should be 10000 (100 meters).

  • If it where, it would "land" right where it took off! At least for airplanes, I don't think this would be a good feature. I think it's set to what ever you set the default altitude, which is usually 100m. For some reaons my default keeps resetting itself to zero every time I save/load a waypoint file. I believe (I'll test tomorrow) that whatever default says when you write the waypoints is what will write to RTL.
