  • Thank you for putting this up there Gary, watched the entire FAA guys presentation and a lot of the Q and A, very informative as to the current state of affairs.

Not really any surprises although it looks like 333 will be a step hopefully in the right direction, how impossible (or expensive) those certificates turn out to be will provide a lot more data.

I still can't wait to see them regulating under 4 pound UAS, a matter of practicality in the face of a huge already existing influx of Chinese imports among other things.

They really need to rethink that one.

And staying a judgement is also not the same thing as saying it is invalid, merely that the FAA at this point in time has definitely not made it's case, so something did in fact change, namely the taken for granted legality of the FAA's actions.

They are not the beneficiary of an appeal until or unless at that time the decision is reversed.

Basically they have said this is the way we say it is so it is that way (kind of like we are the government so whatever we say is legal).

And the only example they have so far in court is in disagreement with that.

    Best Regards,

    Gary

  • Wish the Google corporation would allow higher quality video, but that isn't going to happen, is it.  Jim looked pretty lame, deferring to a goo tube slideshow video with synthesized voice, but that's the kind of lameness which makes money in the new economy.

  • Jack, agreed.  Writing UAV software is not the same thing as writing a tablet App.

  • It's amusing that Airware was on the schedule.  Being 1 of many failed job prospects, they were just interested in people who were good programmers.  They weren't interested in any UAV experience, just what languages you programmed & how fast.  Get really good at taking codility tests in 15 minutes before installing arducopter.

  • This is awesome!!!!

  • Wish I could use sound at work.  :D

Anybody want to run subtitles?  ;)

Thanks very much Jethro, it was always our idea to make sure our show could be seen by as many people as possible. I would like to be there as well ;-) Going to be a long lunch soon, hopefully folks will show us some stuff and the camera will be kept running and then its the man from the FAA!

  • This is absolutely fantastic Gary! Second only to being there in person, I wish I could be there!

    Thanks Patrick!
