Today I started to wiring our ArduCopter 3D Model. So, I decided to do a little instructional image showing how to make a cable for the magnetometer board using the DIYD's GPS cable.

And, here go some other images that I want to share with you all. :)

I hope you like it! ;)

PS.:The location of XBee on the illustrations will be tested soon by Jani. We need to know if it will cause interferences on the magnetometer.

  • @Sandro, Have your wonderful 3D renderings of the boards been posted for download yet?  I haven't been able to find them if they have.  I'd like to use the ArduPilot Mega and Xbee boards in Google Sketchup.

    Thanks,

    Paul

OBJ and Collada are totally interchangeable. OBJ is the more simple and light.

@John, I'm using only LightWave3D from modeling to render.
  • Are you using solid works?
  • @Sandro, Collada format please!! :)
  • I'll cast my vote for making the low poly objects available in OBJ format... I can go a lot of places with that.
  • @ Sandro,
Might I suggest that you keep a folder in the project repository for the LWO files as well since some of us are LW users.
  • @ Ken,
    Very funny old boy :)
  • Wow. This thing is looking beautiful. I think I am going to have to buy one.

Thank you Mark! Satellites are subject for another member of ArduCopter team: Ken MacEwan. :P

The current plan is to share low-poly objects converted into Google Sketchup format. We'll share the DIYD's boards model and other 3D objects used by the team along the project. So, users would use it for other projects or for create other frame concepts and all sort of things. :)

Maybe we can do it by another interchangeable format, like Collada or OBJ. Which file format do you consider more useful or "user rational", like you said?

Thanks for your wonderful work! You should be documenting assembly of satellites or medical equipment!
Can you publish User rational 3D model?
