Quit a project you have going!  I never seen one of them fly in real life. you are right into it.After a while it becomes an extension of your self "Good Job!

" Education"  begins the moment you are born and never ends ."" The shortest pencil is better than the longest memory" I was always a believer in the 3 book theory ! You read one book on a related subject by a particular Author you are a Clone ! You read a second book  on the same subject by another Author  you can see a difference !You read the third book on the same subject by a different Author  You can formulate your own Decisions ! The guy that wrote the first book doesn't know what he is talking about and if you only read one book you are a Clone.

Since I am from the "Old School "  I learn by mistake! I do every thing twice . I just get right into it doing it wrong the first time  which is good practice so I can do it right the second time ! have a good day

You have a lot of experience in RC I never seen mini servos before the Radian Pro  I got a special on regular size servos from planes from the past  We put everything inside back then and they flew well . I like the way you sketch things out taking advantage of the  space available my radio is a 6 Di by using one servo for the ailerons I free up the aux channel for the camera The work you do looks quality ! have a good day!

R .D. go to my page and check out my posted photos ! I am going to try and get the wing together this week end . You are working with new to me technology On your Quadro rotor how do you sinc  each motor to run at the same rpm ? I t must be a pretty good balance to get it to hoover stationary it looks pretty big how far is it across ?when you are 20 feet away how can you tell the front from the back?have a good day!

R.D. I have a quad on my real flight simulator and I can't even begin to control it after looking at your pictures of the inside of the Nova  I like the way you routered out the foam and made a basket for the servos . pretty precision stuff. Impressive  you might be working to closer tolerances than me because of the stuff you want to put in and the room you have  available. I jigged up and laid up the ribs for the wing on my drone today  my buddy has a ping pong table in his garage that belongs to his son he never uses it it has become a work bench I screwed the jig to the table to keep the wing straight From the drawing to cutting the pieces to laying it up is quite a change  after looking at it full scale it is kind of "High aspect ratio "  There is a lot of pieces and it took all day I c/a ed my fingers together many times at one point  when I was about half done I thought  "Why am I doing this? I am old I should be sitting on a bench in a park some where enjoying the weather watching people walk their dog then pick their dogs crap up and put it in plastic bags!" I will get my son to take a picture of the wing over the weekend and Post You have a good day! Carl

R.D Do you have any experience with pusher prop stall and spin recovery where the motor is right on the tail? I am concerned Gyroscopic procession might make it impossible to recover if I put the motor there  Thanks Carl

I didn't read any thing on it I was going from practice experience in a  large plane .Spin Recovery Verify ailerons are centered , opposite rudder to stop the spin elevator forward to break the stall  pull out of the ensuing dive altitude loss  150 to 700 feet depending on the skill of the pilot . I don't know about a rear engine plane ? Just guessing in a full scale drone like the raptor that is rear engine since they are not in the plane they probably need 500 feet to stop the spin and another 400 feet to pull out of the dive

My concern is if I build a rear engine
RC plane and I only have 100 feet of altitude and if it goes in to a spin if I would be able to pull out or would the torque from the motor make it impossible to fly out of it? and increase the spin rate? right now I am looking at all the options as to where to put the motor other than on the nose Thanks Carl

Thanks for your comment I have been including the drawings with my posts as I make them up If any body wanted to make their own they could I am inventing as I go along same as you with your Quadro rotor One of the reasons I have an aluminum tail With the Spirit glider I have  the tail broke nearly every time I flew it You have a great Day! Doug,  (I am still adjusting to the design of the DIY Drones site... not the best from my experience with wikis and blogs.)  Below is a reply to your comment. Not sure if you would have received an alert that I left one in the other location.

Thanks for the offer and the tip about keeping a log sheet. I bought this charger from progressiverc because of some favorable blog mentions (and they are conveniently located in the basement of a house a few miles away from our home). Based on meeting those guys, I have a high trust for their advice and products. Haven't looked at these pages. I am about to *carefully* charge my first lipos with a charging bag.

Hi Doug,

Working on a 3meter Mugin UAV platform. Initial intentions were to fly it as a large FPV with photo mapping but after going through all the info, builds ect. I'm shooting for a full APT/APL. May as well try and do it with a "no regrets" approach :)

Hi  Doug here are a few more shots of the project..this past summer I have been diving the Niagara river off Fort

Erie .In the War 1812-14  1600 American soldiers crossed the river a little further to the east and got set up on a ridge 1/2 mile away. there was 200 British soldiers holding the Fort. they knew the Americans were coming and they were greatly out numbered So they pushed there cannons into the fast moving water of the river and threw in all their other weaponry as well.swords muskets bayonets. The Americans sent a man in "you have 2 hours to surrender or we will blow you to crap! The British surrendered with out a shot fired. It was a hollow victory instead of getting a stash of military might, they got a bunch of empty buildings with extra mouths to feed ! The Americans had 2 supply ships Re fortify the fort with cannons etc..The main British army was over by Niagara falls found out

the fort had been taken traveled to fort Erie and got set up on the same ridge the Americans were on previously and tried on numerous occasions to re take the fort 1000 men were killed on both sides. The Americans snuck out at night and drove steel spikes in some of the British cannons powder holes making them useless on the battle line right in front of them now that is"Guts!". The British managed to sink both American ships with cannon fire.with no way to resupply and winter coming the Americans abandoned the place With no U hauls they pushed theit cannons and any thing they could not carry with them into the fast moving water of the river.The original fort was East of where the fort is today The river bank goes down to about 6 feet deep 20 feet out then drops off almost straight down to 16 feet. there are cannons ,cannon ball muskets swords bayonets covering the bottom.The shore is posted "No Swimming" so you have to use a boat it is comparable to diving in the 9 knots of current in the Sarnia River not for beginners. my R /C projects are on hold at the moment
