Excellent! I am sure you will have some fun. I have the propeller and I just ordered a better ultrasonic range finder that is suppose to be less noisy than say the PING module from Parallax. If you need any sample code for the bs2 just let me know. I might have something....
I just checked out your website. I worked for 3M Touch Sytems until the end of March. If you need any info or help about touchscreens and touch integration into monitors, just give me a yell...We used to work on some projects for home automation, maybe they were yours :) Anyway, you're more than welcome to ask any technical question
Hello, I read through your article, " Help! Can't display NMEA strings with BS2Px properly" and i found it very interesting and insightful, because i am doing a simular project and am also using the same components as you. I was wondering if you would mind posting the final navigation code that you came up with, by that i mean the code that you had when the article finished as apposed to the code you had originally. It would be a huge amount of help for me.
Hi Gus, I'm sorry to say that I never got around to finishing the nav code on the Bs2. I tried it s few different ways but kept coming up with the same problem. The Bs2's limited math capabilities. If I remember correctly it could not do floating point or do the ATN command with negative numbers. You could ping a message to Chris Anderson to see if he finished it but I think once he started to play with Arduino the BS2 was forgotten about (just like me!) Maybe post the question on the forum to see if anyone finished it. Good Luck! I'd love to be spending more time on this but work keeps getting in the way!
I got it working on a BS2pe in 2006. Negative number headaches were why I quickly upgraded away from 8-bit micros. You have to test numbers for the sign bit, and if negative capture that fact, then re-apply required sign after calc with positively-only math. what a headache. I have no idea where my original code is, sorry.
