Hi Andrew, nice to see someone close by. I'm just in the process of building my HK EPPFVP with an APM2.5. Taking a while as I try to cram everything into what looked like a fairly large pod but in practice seems a lot smaller. So far I've mounted the ESC outside for better ventilation and have added some landing gear and a steerable nose wheel. Havn't got as far as configuring the APM yet so don't have any files to share. I've got a quadcopter with APM already fitted, to be honest I didn't need to do too much fine tuning so hope the ardupilot version is similar. Hopefully the weather will improve and we will get some chance to set the things up :)

Keep in touch and let me know how you get on, we could try some formation apm flying in the summer :)

Thanks Harry, Yes I also am in the process of building and modifying the EPPFPV based on several forums. An additional Wind Spar, main wing and stabilizers. Glad I put the ESC on the outside as well as I always put a slightly bigger motor than is required, but think I have gone all out this time! Next stop the moon!....

I have previously used an Eagle Tree system so have some experience with PID loops and having built other Arduino projects should be fun getting this all set up.

Will post some pictures once i get into the project and all the bits have materialized from cyberspace via the postman!

Having moved to Chelmsford recently not actually found a good place to fly yet so may come back to find out where in Essex everyone goes, we have plenty of green fields around so shouldnt be too tricky.

I was flying with an eagle tree setup but managed to fry my ESC after changing to a three bladed prop and not retesting with a meter. The ET module think is rated at 100a but I still managed to burn it out when the ESC blew. Thats when I switched to a quad and the APM. it Flies very well so am hoping the plane mounted version will work as well. To be honest I found the ET stabalisation seemed to fight me a lot and gave for a very jerky experience despite a period of tuning.

Didn't spot the forum posts on additional wing spars so will have to keep my fingers crossed, hoping the wheel modifications keep the tail well away from the ground. Currently I have 4-5" clearance...

As to fields all ours seem to be under water at the moment :( it doesn't seem to have stopped raining for months :( There are a few clubs dotted aound, I'm sure there is quite a big one in Chelmsford and another over Woodham way.
