Mission Planner displays GPS status incorrectly

So I've been trying unsuccessfully to interface a secondary GPS NMEA stream to my quad with Pixhawk installed.  Finally I just connected my terminal program directly to Pixhawk and started sending a…Continue

Compiling ArduIMU sketch with Arduino 1.0.3

Started this discussion. Last reply by Harry May 21, 2014. 2 Replies

Anyone who uses ArduIMU and tried to upgrade Arduino from 0022 to the current version (anything past 1.0)  discovered that good old firmware that was compiling just fine in the previous versions now…Continue

ArduIMU V3 all axes output wrong values!

I cannot believe that I'm the only one who noticed that!  I would write it off as a faulty device but I've got two brand new once here that produce identical output with the same unmodified firmware…Continue

Aurdupilot stops navigating during waypoint upload.

This is kind of a big deal for any autopilot.  If you use ardupilot with a data link and upload waypoints during flight (which is a standard feature for any autopilot) the unit stops flying the…Continue

Mission Planner displays GPS status incorrectly

So I've been trying unsuccessfully to interface a secondary GPS NMEA stream to my quad with Pixhawk installed.  Finally I just connected my terminal program directly to Pixhawk and started sending a single GGA message. Here is a sample message I've been sending:$GPGGA,120000,2753.1354100,N,8232.2899630,W,1,08,0.9,31.1,M,-26.5,M,,*78 (CR and CL at the end)Now depending on the port used (GPS or Serial 4/5) I get different results and both are incorrect:When GPS port is used - GPS status oscillates…See More

"You increased complexity of the system for no quantifiable gain.  Since it is touted as a multi-mile range solution I assume that intent was to improve range of communications.  Well let's just try to use math instead of colorful…"

"The technical data is pretty limited, but based on what I see and data available, I don't think it is a "beam shaping 'radio'" As well as the statement on their web site: "high gain beam and keeps it always pointed to…"

"I looked at LoRa modems some time ago.  I think Semtech somewhat misrepresent their product.  Just like with any other data you have to compare apples to apples, and they make it as hard as possible.  Since max power output of Semtech…"

"Last time I checked US Forest Service didn't regulate airspace.  This would be enforceable if they had had FAA amend already existing regulations.  Other than that they can try to enforce the rules until the first lawsuit"

Art replied to Hugues's discussion What is the status of 3DR radios?
"As far as I know none of the telemetry radios on the RC/FPV/"Drone" market (clones or otherwise) had their designs licensed by FCC to operate in ISM band.  It doesn't mean that it is not compliant - most of them are of similar…"

Art replied to Hugues's discussion What is the status of 3DR radios?
"The statement: "The RFD900 is designed to be compliant with the following standards" tells me that they didn't obtain license from FCC for this radio as well.  They also say that :"The user is responsible for compliance with…"

"HK, got the same hardware and plastic for the most part.  I got the 433 radio from them and made it work on 915Mhz.  You pretty much have to limit out on the cap value for the crystal but it works.  That aside, I couldn't find…"
