Hi.  I am struggling.  Haven't flown for a year and can't seem to arm my copter.  Hooked it up to the latest mission planner and it's getting a 'Bad Compass Health' Error.  This is even though the…Continue

Hi everyone!  As I've been flying my quadcopter, I was curious as to how fast it was going.  I used some velcro to attach my Garmin Nuvi to it and reset the trip odometer.  I clocked my quadcopter at…Continue

Hi Everyone.  I am having some issues with RTL.  It's flight path seems rather unpredictable.  In the screenshot below I indicate my home position and the position of my RTL start.  Rather than pick…Continue

"Is the arrow on your FC to the front of the copter?  I had this once before because i forgot to get the AHRS_ORIENTATION parameter after a wipe wrong. This can cause the copter to flip immediately after takeoff"

Can't get in the air.

It has been awhile since my quadcopter has flown and I am having trouble getting started again. First, I got an error 99, bad compass health... Even though I have never had trouble with my compass. I reloaded firmware (and switched to ArduRover and back to ArduCopter... Per a thread that fixed a similar issue for someone else). Finally, I got everything recalibrate, except for the compass, so I disabled the compass check for ARMING.The props spin fine and I know everything is connected correctly…See More

Quadcopter Ground Speed

Hi everyone!  As I've been flying my quadcopter, I was curious as to how fast it was going.  I used some velcro to attach my Garmin Nuvi to it and reset the trip odometer.  I clocked my quadcopter at 58 miles per hour.  So... I was wondering: Has anyone else clocked your groundspeed in a multi-copter -- if so, what kind of speeds did you get? Is it possible to read the ground speed from the logs?  I'm sure I could have gone faster had it not been for the extra weight of the Nuvi. Thanks,Dustin See More

Hi Dave,

My Hexacopter max weight is 4 lbs-5oz with a GoPro, stabilized camera mount, leds 100% duty cycle and 5000mha Turnigy Lipo. I am also using Turnigy 2217 860KV brushless motors swing APC 11X4.7 Props. My static thrust is 13.2lbs with all six motors at full power. With my current configuration I have lifted 3 lb payloads at my home town elevation of 2,300ft. I am not sure if this is considered heavy lifting.
