"I assume you are giving the serial link back :) Looks like you all did an awesome job, based on the numbers what's your effective range/flight time for the plucky little drone? I'll have to remember the bike clips when I finally get my…"

"Landing is a trivial task (think about it you just stop flying.....) and an easy destruction option the same way. I wonder if just making the code inefficient counts?"

Overwatch replied to Gregg "Cabe" Bond's discussion Might be a nice new toy - FEZ Domino
"The author makes it very clear that releasing his code for us noobs is not gonna happen. We're being suggested to stick with our "hobby toys" if we don't like it. He really needs to work on his people skills if you ask me :-)"

"The chip price is also more than the ATmega, you do get more speed but it does cost you in price and power. but if it goes full open source I can see it catching on."

"I wouldn't trust it in a timing-critical application (like stabilizing a quad). With so much hardware abstraction, thread scheduling with all kinds of braindead logic and garbage collectors running about, proving conclusively that the system…"

Tim Michals replied to Gregg "Cabe" Bond's discussion Might be a nice new toy - FEZ Domino
"1) It is not real-time 2) The BSP is not open source. It might not matter for this platform, but moving it to another platform is an issue. I brought this up several times with the vendor. They are strong on not releasing the source code to the BSP…"

Gregg "Cabe" Bond replied to Lew Payne's discussion Video Encoder Sees Through Fog
"If the fog is thick enough to need processing, your're probably better off looking at alternative imaging. This sort of technique is really only useful for trying to save a photo from the discard pile of holiday snaps. Its basically a hardware…"

Gregg "Cabe" Bond replied to Lew Payne's discussion Video Encoder Sees Through Fog
"If its compensating for UV they potentially could just apply a single processing filter which says "add n to these values, subject y from green, etc" and hope for the best. Its always better to make sure the right image is getting to the…"

Gregg "Cabe" Bond replied to Lew Payne's discussion Video Encoder Sees Through Fog
"Short of actual water droplet fog, most loss of contrast is due to UV screwing with sensors. Slap a UV filter in front of it and see if it knocks out some of the haze."

Gregg "Cabe" Bond replied to Oliver's discussion RFI supression for UAV's
"One thing I intend to do on my Tri is mount all the sensitive electronics on single sided G10/FR4 copper clad and see if that helps. It is an effective screen and it should create an RF shadow behind it (above in this case). A lot depends on where…"
